Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to questions about trading, market psychology, risk management and the TraderAI Assistant platform.
Platform
Does Milo give signals or investment advice?
No. Never. Milo doesn't tell you what to buy or where to enter. It tells you whether your entry meets the conditions you wrote down yourself. TraderAI Assistant is an educational and analytical tool: we don't trade for you and we are not an investment firm or an investment adviser. Futures trading involves substantial risk of loss — see the Risk disclosure.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT doesn't know your rules, doesn't see your trades, won't remember today tomorrow, and happily agrees with you. Milo has your method, your trades and a memory. It holds you to your own rules, not to generic advice.
Do I have to connect a broker account?
No. You can enter trades by hand or add them from a screenshot. If you trade on TopstepX, you can connect your account on every plan: the connection is for reading, and the only thing the platform ever does on the account is the trading lockout after the day closes, which you turn on yourself.
I trade crypto or forex, not futures. Does it make sense?
Yes. You enter trades by hand or from a screenshot, and your method and Milo work the same way on every market. Automatic journaling from an account works for TopstepX today. We add more integrations when users ask for them.
What if Milo gets it wrong?
It can get things wrong; it is an AI model. That is why Milo offers hypotheses with evidence, not diagnoses, and you can mark analyses as accurate or inaccurate. Your correction changes the next ones. What Milo remembers about you is visible to you and you can correct it.
How much reading is this? I have no time for essays.
Not much. Every text from Milo starts with three sentences: what went right, the one thing that matters, one step. The rest is under “Expand”, and on Pro you can listen to the longer analyses. Hard messages come one at a time, not in a pile. A confirmation is “Saved”, not a paragraph.
Why should I trust a trader who blew four accounts?
Because I'm not selling you a result. I'm selling the process guardian I needed myself. If knowledge were enough, I wouldn't have had to build it. I use Milo every day on my own account.
How much does TraderAI Assistant cost?
We offer two paid plans: Basic at $50/mo or $500/year (Milo — up to 50 chats and analyses per day) and Pro at $100/mo or $1,000/year (up to 100 per day). Pro includes everything in Basic plus Milo's Memory, deep analysis of your day and week, growth areas, the session plan, a monthly letter that reads your month against Milo's Memory, analyses you can listen to and a second look at each TopstepX trade. It's all in the plan price, with no API key of your own. Outside the app, optional: TopstepX API access at your broker ($29/mo, $14.50 with the code "topstep") and a TradingView Essential plan or higher if you want Milo to look at your chart. For companies and teams there is a Business plan, priced individually.
Can I try it before buying?
There is no free trial — your subscription and billing start immediately when you choose a plan. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from your account settings.
Is there a phone or desktop app?
Yes. The full platform runs in the browser, on a computer and on a phone. The iPhone app (conversation with Milo, notifications, a trade from a photo of your screen) and the Mac app (a narrow panel next to your broker platform: the scenario with its checklist, a trade from a screenshot, Milo with the browser closed) are ready and go to the first users on request: write to contact@traderaiassistant.com. Android and Windows are coming soon.
How is TraderAI Assistant different from a trading journal?
A journal describes the past and you have to fill it in. Milo speaks up by itself: in the morning it reminds you of one thing to watch, during the session it checks your entry against your rules, after a loss it offers a break, in the evening it sums up the day. The journal is inside, but the mentor is the reason to come here.
Will Milo replace my mentor?
No, and that's not the point. A human mentor has limits: not there at the moment of decision, no memory for counts, and sees only what you show. Milo enforces every day what the mentor sets up once a week. Keep your mentor.
How does the TopstepX integration work?
On every plan you connect your TopstepX account and the platform starts working on real trades: each one lands in the Journal by itself, and the Risk Guardian detects, during the session, an entry right after a loss, a position with no stop, a losing streak or trading after the day is closed. On Pro there is also a second look: an independent review of each entry. After you close your day, you can turn on a trading lockout until the end of the trading day. The platform never places orders and never changes your limits — the only allowed action is the optional lockout, which you enable yourself. API access costs $29/mo at the broker ($14.50 with the code "topstep") and you pay it directly to TopstepX.
Can I talk about my journal in Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant?
Yes. In Settings you connect the assistant you already use (an MCP connector; you sign in with your own account and see what you agree to). It gets read access only: today's plan, the setup checklist, your recent trades and Milo's reviews. The only write is a note on a trade. You disconnect with one click.
What is the second look at a trade?
On the Pro plan, with a connected TopstepX account, Milo reviews each of your trades independently of you — including ones you logged manually from a screenshot. It looks at context, entry, stop, trade management and exit. The point is the order: you can describe and assess the trade yourself first, and only then compare with Milo's review. That's how you build independence, not reliance on a tool.
What is the Process Score and why don't we look at the result alone?
The Process Score tells you whether you traded by your own plan, not how much you made. A green trade on a broken rule is still a bad decision: the market paid you for breaking the rule and reinforced the habit. A higher score doesn't guarantee profit. It shows whether the decisions are made by you in the morning or by you after the second loss.
Do I need my own API key for deep analysis?
No. Deep analysis of your day and week is included in the Pro plan and runs on the platform's AI model. You don't connect any key of your own and you pay nothing on top of the subscription. It's optional: you turn it on in Settings and can turn it off there too.
Is my trading data safe?
We take care of it. We keep data on servers in the EU, connections are encrypted (HTTPS), integration keys and your own AI key are encrypted in the database, and the database separates users' data — each account sees only its own. There is no end-to-end encryption: the server has to read your entries so Milo can analyse them (using Google's AI model). We don't sell data or use it for ads. Export and account deletion are in Settings. Details: Privacy Policy.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes, no strings attached. Change your plan or cancel — one click in account settings.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Within 14 days of purchase you can withdraw from the contract without giving a reason — email contact@traderaiassistant.com. The service starts immediately at your request, so we refund the fee minus a part proportionate to the days you used it. After that you can cancel your subscription for the future at any time — access continues until the end of the paid period, and fees for that period are not refunded unless the law requires it.
Psychology
Why do I take another trade right after a loss?
Because a loss triggers an alarm response, and clicking really does remove the discomfort. For thirty seconds. The part of you that could decide "I'll take a break" is switched off at that moment, which is why a break by willpower alone rarely works. Breaks that were set up earlier do work: a limit, a lockout, a question from someone outside. In the app that is the post-loss break and the Risk Guardian.
How do I limit the number of trades in a day?
Set a daily trade limit before the session starts and write it where someone will check it. A limit kept "in your head" changes with your mood. In the app you set it in the Risk Guardian, and Milo reminds you of it during the session.
Risk Management
How much can I risk on a single trade?
That is your decision and it depends on your plan. A common rule is a small, fixed fraction of capital per trade, so that a losing streak does not end the game. More important than the number is that it is written down before the session and stays the same after a loss as before it. In the app you save it in your rules, and Milo points it out when you go over.
Journal
How do I keep a journal that is actually useful?
A chart screenshot, the reason for the entry, what you felt at entry and exit, whether the trade followed the plan, one takeaway. The hardest part is filling it in after bad days, because memory kindly smooths them over. That is why TopstepX trades land in the journal by themselves, and an entry from a screenshot takes a minute.
Education
Why isn't trading knowledge enough?
Because the plan is made when you are calm, and the entry "to get it back" comes from an alarm response. Those are two different systems and the second one is faster. Another course talks to the part of you that already knows. What helps is an outside eye at the moment of decision and a loop in which you save a lesson in the evening and someone hands it back to you in the morning.
